How To Configure Mac Mail

• Launch Mail. A dialogue will appear, asking you for your sever settings. The server type should be set to IMAP, then enter your name and PA email address.

• After clicking Continue, you'll be asked for your incoming mail settings. Enter mail.pa.msu.edu as the server, and your username and password.

• On the next screen, make sure that "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)" is checked. Authentication should be set to "Password."

• Your outgoing mail server should also be set to mail.pa.msu.edu, Use Authentication must be checked, and you'll need to enter your username and password again.

• Select "Password" for the authentication type.

• Your account is now more or less functional. Click done. The mail window will now open, and you'll want to go to the Mail menu on the menubar, and select Preferences.

• Under accounts, go to the Advanced tab. Check "Automatically synchronize changed mailboxes," and set the IMAP Path Prefix to "mail." You're done!
