- Problem
I write my documents in LaTeX, and want to compile them with the new ReVTeX version 4.0.
- Solution
NOTE:You will first need to have installed MiKTeX on your Windows PC to use ReVTeX. Some newer versions of MiKTeX include RevTeX as an optional module downloadable
via MiKTeX's own internal update+enhance system. The following instructions should work, however, with versions before and after this was made available.
First you will need to download the ReVTeX install package. Click HERE to download the file.
NOTE: You will need a decompression utility, such as Power Archiver, to decompress this file.
Make the subdirectory \tex\latex\ under your c:\localtexmf directory (this may not be c: if you told the MiKTeX installer to install the localtexmf directory on a different drive).
Extract revtex4.zip to \localtexmf\tex\latex\ using Power Archiver or some other program that can handle .zip files. This will create another subdirectory called "revtex4".
Run initexmf -u from the dos command prompt or choose "Refresh filename database" from the MikTeX group on the Start menu.
You are now ready to use ReVTeX version 4.0. To test your installation, you can compile one of the sample files included with the .zip file. Happy ReVTeX'ing!
