How do I install WinEDT under Windows?

  1. Problem

I want to create TeX documents on my Windows PC. I already have MikTeX installed but I would like a nice editor. What can I use?

  2. Solution

Install WinEDT5. WinEDT5 integrates very nicely with MikTeX and is easy to use. To install:

    1. Download the latest version of WinEDT5 by clicking here.
    2. Run the file and enter a directory to extract the installation files to. Click Unzip
    3. Change to that directory and run Setup. Step through the installation process and let the files copy. Once you click Finish you're done.

Remember, WinEDT5 is shareware, so if you continue to use it you should register it.
